STEP 1: WHAT’S IN THE BOX?
When you receive your KeyWhere order there may be several boxes each with different parts of your order. Ensure you have unpacked everything from all packages
The box should contain (per panel):
- KeyWhere Panel
- Wall brackets
- 1 bag of 120 hooks
- 1 bag of 120 RFID tags
- Power supply
Other items:
- Hook spanner
- Allen Key
- Jumper cables (if more than 1 panel)
- Assorted screws and hardware
STEP 2: INSTALLING THE HOOK
The hooks can only be inserted into the panel in one way. This is roughly 90 degrees counter-clockwise from upright. Sometimes these hooks can be very firm, the included spanner will assist with locking them into place.
It will save time during the assignment process if you go through and attach an RFID tag to each keyset now.
TIP: Try to keep the length of the keyset down to keep the board as neat as possible.
STEP 3: HANGING THE KEYWHERE PANEL
WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU ENGAGE A LICENSED AND EXPERIENCED BUILDER OR TRADESPERSON TO HANG THE PANEL TO ENSURE SAFETY AND PREVENT DAMAGE
You tradesperson should first mount the 2 brackets securely and accurately onto the wall. We have included some screws and plugs designed for drywall/gyprock walls.
Once the brackets are up, simply slide your panel over the brackets, then secure with the Allen key and grub screw from the front of the panel.
STEP 4: CONNECTING TO POWER AND WIFI
Under the panel there are 2 power jacks available, either will work fine. The second is so that you can connect several panels via a “daisy-chain”. The panel will power up once connected at the wall.
EACH POWER SUPPLY SUPPORTS UP TO 4 BOARDS LINKED TOGETHER. FOR MORE THAN 4 BOARDS, USE ANOTHER POWER SUPPLY WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN PROVIDED
Once powered up, you should see the top “Wifi” light flash between red and orange. Open the app, follow the prompts which simply check you are ready, then get to the wifi setup page.
YOUR PHONE NEEDS TO BE CONNECTED TO THE SAME WIFI NETWORK YOU INTEND FOR THE PANEL TO BE ON
Re-enter the wifi password and press connect. You should see the wifi light on the panel change to a few different states, before eventually beeping and going solid green. This state means your panel is now connected to the internet and the KeyWhere system.
STEP 5: HANGING UP THE KEYS
As mentioned in step 2, it is best to attach all the key tags before starting – this makes the key-hanging process as efficient as possible.
The next stage in the setup process on the app should be the key hanging page. If you have returned to the dashboard, simple select the “Continue Setup” option.
The number at the top of the screen indicates the key the board is waiting for. You must now also select which panel you are working on. Don’t worry if you are unsure, the panel will flash once selected indicating you are on the right one. Hang the key currently on the screen in the position that correlates to its number. Keep in mind that there are 10 hooks in each row, so the first hook/position on the left-hand side of each row should be numbered 1, 11, 21 etc. If possible, this is the chance to check the keys match the property you expect them to.
If you have hung the key correctly, it will go green. The app should bring up a green tick and move to the next key; however if it doesn’t, but you still get a green light, click next. (See video for visual of this occurring if you are unsure)
Repeat for each key that comes up until all your keys are hung. Remember to change panels as needed.
TIP: If you do not have the key (either can’t find it or it is out at the moment) simply click “skip”. The app will leave that hook/position for later. BE SURE TO LEAVE A GAP ON THE BOARD THOUGH
